It blends a real curriculum with RPG-style progression so practice feels like an adventure, not homework.

SpeakLegends launches with the most-requested courses — Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese — taught from English. Every course is built around practical, real-world phrases you can use from day one. We add new languages and expand existing courses regularly, so the catalogue keeps growing.

Yes. The core game is free forever — full courses, daily quests, streaks, hearts and the dragon companion cost nothing. SpeakLegends Premium is an optional subscription that removes limits (unlimited hearts, no ads, offline lessons and more) for learners who want to go further, faster.

Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. Pricing and the free-trial offer are shown in the app before you confirm — the App Store handles the payment, so you are billed by Apple, not by us. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.

You manage, change or cancel your plan anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad — never inside SpeakLegends.

Your streak counts each consecutive day you complete at least one lesson. The streak flame grows the longer you keep it alive, and it is the single best habit-builder in the app — a daily streak turns occasional study into real fluency. Miss a day and the streak resets, so quick daily practice beats long, irregular sessions.

Hearts are your lives in a lesson. You start a lesson with a set of hearts and lose one for each wrong answer; run out and you take a short break (or practise to earn them back) before continuing. Hearts keep you focused and reward accuracy. Premium gives you unlimited hearts so you can learn from mistakes without ever stopping.

Leagues are weekly leaderboards. You earn XP for every lesson and compete in a division with other learners at your level — finish near the top to promote to a tougher league, and keep practising to avoid dropping down. Leagues add friendly competition and a weekly reason to keep your streak going.

Every legend has a dragon. Your golden dragon is your study buddy — it reacts as you learn, celebrates streaks and milestones, and grows more legendary the more you practise. It is there to make daily practice feel warm and rewarding, and it is yours from the very first lesson.

Yes, with Premium. Premium lets you download lessons in advance so you can keep your streak alive on a plane, the subway or anywhere without a connection. Your progress syncs automatically the next time the app is online. The free version requires an internet connection to load lessons.

You can start learning right away. An account lets your progress, streak and XP sync and back up across your devices. We collect only what is needed to run the game and improve learning — your progress, learning activity and basic account details — and we never sell your personal data.

SpeakLegends is built for iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 17 or later. It is a native app available on the App Store — there is no Android version or web app today. We recommend keeping iOS up to date for the best performance and the latest features.
